The 42SP1-4000 sensor operates using a diffuse scanning mode, where the sensor emits light that reflects off the target object and returns to the receiver within the same unit. This design eliminates the need for separate reflectors or receivers, simplifying installation and reducing system complexity. The sub-miniature form factor allows for integration into tight spaces, making it ideal for applications with limited mounting area. The sensor is compatible with Series 4000 and 5000 controls, providing flexibility in various industrial environments. Note that as of May 12, 2017, this model has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
