This design ensures that the plug and receptacle contacts engage before the switch closes and open after the switch opens, preventing arcing in hazardous environments. Constructed from copper-free aluminum with brass contacts, it offers durability and corrosion resistance. The threaded cap provides additional protection when the receptacle is not in use.
