Description

The ME807A operates as a receiver in a short-haul modem setup, converting serial data transmitted over twisted-pair cables back into parallel data. It supports data rates up to 19,200 bps and transmission distances up to 4 miles (6.4 km) over 24- or 26-AWG unshielded twisted-pair telephone cable. The device features a DB25 female connector for data interface and a 5-screw terminal block for line connection. Diagnostic capabilities include loopback tests and status indicators for monitoring data transmission. The ME807A is housed in a standalone unit with a compact design, suitable for desktop or shelf placement. It requires a 120 VAC power supply and consumes approximately 5 watts. The device is compatible with various Black Box short-haul modem transmitters, such as the ME806A.
