It features a digital LCD readout for clear visibility in diverse lighting conditions and offers two temperature-compensated modes for accurate DO readings. The device includes manual salinity correction ranging from 0 to 40 parts per thousand (ppt), accommodating measurements in both freshwater and saltwater. Designed with a rugged, gasketed ABS case, the Model 58 is water-resistant, making it suitable for challenging field conditions. It operates on line power or batteries, with the capability to hold additional batteries for an optional DO field stirrer. The instrument is compatible with various YSI probes, including the 5239, 5718, 5905, 5750, and 5740 models, enhancing its adaptability across different applications.
