This setup reduces installation and maintenance costs by positioning I/O modules closer to sensors and actuators. The module supports multiple communication rates—57.6 kbps, 115.2 kbps, and 230.4 kbps—and can interface with up to 32 I/O adapter devices on the I/O link. It is compatible with various 1771 I/O chassis and supports different slot addressing modes, providing flexibility in system configuration. Diagnostic indicators on the module assist in monitoring system status and troubleshooting.
