Description

The Allen-Bradley 1747-L532 is a mid-range SLC 5/03 processor module, providing reliable automation control for industrial systems. This processor has 16K words of user memory, allowing it to store complex ladder logic programs. It supports up to 4096 digital I/O points and 480 analog I/O points, making it highly scalable for different automation tasks.

This module features dual communication ports:

  • DH-485 communication port for networking with other controllers and HMIs.
  • RS-232 port for serial communication, which supports DF1 protocol for easy integration with external devices.

With a scan time of approximately 1 millisecond per 1K of ladder logic instructions, the 1747-L532 ensures fast processing and efficient operation. It also supports online program editing, allowing changes to be made while the system is running.

This processor is installed in a 4-slot, 7-slot, 10-slot, or 13-slot chassis, depending on system requirements. It operates with a backplane current draw of 500 mA at 5V DC and functions reliably within a temperature range of 0 to 60°C.

The 1747-L532 was officially discontinued by Rockwell Automation on March 31, 2024. Users are encouraged to migrate to newer CompactLogix or ControlLogix controllers for enhanced performance and long-term support.
